Creative loop
Reality is strange. It feels like we’re stuck in a creative loop.
The old repackaged and presented as new.
What people wear today, would not look out of place say 30 years ago when I was a teenager.
Look at the 20th century and the seismic jumps in fashion and culture from the 1920’s, 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and 90’s. All very defined decades, with very distinct forms of fashion, films, music, and technology.
Since the start of the millennium the decades all kind of merge into each other into a murky blob.
Every year the same iphone comes out, same laptops, same fashion, same type of bands, commercial jet planes are the same, rockets to get into space, films have objectively become slightly worse.
Oh yeah no hover boards…
It’s like people are so focused on the digital black mirror they carry around, we’ve forgotten to create in the exterior world.
Or maybe this was always the limit of the system. We’ve reached a ceiling in materium.
