Lost Civilisation illusions

I’m on a real ‘everything is an illusion’ train of thought at present. Either i’ll snap out of it. Or keep doubling down on these ideas.

Feels like we’re all chasing ideas of lost civilisations hidden technologies, suppressed magical architecture.

In reality all thats left are ruins, or fragments found in books or maps that don’t fit the general mainstream narrative. Or thats what we are told.

But can we ever really be certain on anything actually happened they way you think..?

You come into this life with amnesia for the majority all we see is the ground underneath our feet, the sky above, no concept of whats really in the heavens, there are remnants of old civilisations with more questions than answers. The majority of information you carry around and believe has been told to you.

I guess i’m pointing towards ideas of simulacrum. We see these representations of ruins and something lost and degrading. But actually were they ever fully constructed?

I getting to the point I can only verify whats in front of me now. I can’t be sure anything existed in the past in the ways that most would perceive. I could be completely wrong… but this is where i’m conceptually residing these days.
