Dragon Mother – Michael Tsarion

A teacher of mine a few months ago referenced the Irish author and speaker Michael Tsarion during a YouTube interview she participated in. His name and content was completely new to me, she regarded his research and writings vitally important. Most specifically surrounding his 2017 self published book ‘Dragon Mother’. This book literally turns upside down the current gender paradigm collective understanding of toxic masculinity and the rise of the feminine as a universal mechanism that will go on to heal all of humanities traumas and ills.

After watching a couple of interviews of Tsarion, I found the concepts he conveyed truly fascinating and wholly unique. But without a doubt his message would be very triggering too some.

Admittedly I have never really read a book that focuses on psychology or even gender quite so much. But even with my novice eyes, brain and experience in such matters, I could tell his knowledge within western psychology, feminism and metaphysics is immense. Tsarion speaks from a very learned place.

Before reading Dragon Mother as mentioned I equated myself with some of his interviews on the subject. One in particular produced by Black Earth productions. The interviewer himself is a powerful some might say abrasive speaker. The underlying message though when I first watched, was paradigm decimating. I walked away with the word, ‘Wow’ echoing throughout my cranium. At one point during the video they discuss dictators, or men who developed tyrannical tendencies. Interestingly they all had one thing in common, they were all born through a womb, and so obviously had a mother. Therefore they equated a lot of the violent controlling tendencies could potentially be stemming from unhealed latent violent aspects of the mother.

Also archetypes, the cron, the old women who secretly controls and manipulates from the shadows. My mind crudely wandered towards the ultimate movie cheese fest Kevin Costner’s ‘Robin Hood Prince of Thieves. The unholy alliance between the Sherif of Nottingham and the witch of the castle perfectly encapsulates this relationship archetype echoing from society, into the stories and literature of our cultures. Much of our legends, films and literature are littered with similar examples.

…woman seems to have a resistance to revealing her own psychology…her psychology is a mystery not only to the man but to herself, a secret which, by her very nature, she is never tempted to penetrate or to give away

Tsarion’s overall research focus isn’t only within these gender confines. His reach is incredibly broad from the occult histories of Ireland and America. Atlantis, Western Magical Traditions, Hermetic Arts of Divination, Secret Societies, Eco-Genesis, and much, much more. Having heard a few interviews now I’ve been so impressed with his depth and understanding in these deep alternative subjects. Himself a regular podcaster, Impressively Tsarion has also found the time to write 11 books on all these subjects in addition to appearing at conferences around the world.

It’s important to note that Tsarion speaks not only on the genetic trauma that befalls man and women a like, but the historical events that humanity has witnessed and endured. Seismic, climatic events such as the fall of Atlantis and other similar disasters being also front and centre to societies traumas and fractures. Beaming through our DNA, screaming to be acknowledged and healed.

But coming back to the main thread of this article, a quote on his website unabashedly and unapologetically states:

“Dragon Mother is certainly politically incorrect and will cause knee-jerk reactions from oblivious, acculturated people who have not questioned or investigated this profound but obscure matter.”

He without a doubt doesn’t hold back in this opinion on this subject, some could find his style overly intensely confrontational. He refers to the phrase ‘terrible mothers’ quite frequently. Personally I can take the harshness of his writing style, but then I’m not a woman. His underlying core argument and take on this subject is understandably very challenging to collective beliefs and paradigms. This alone could cause instant misogynistic consternation in some.

In my humble opinion there are so many inversions in our reality set as booby traps to throw us off course from the roots of what we should be focusing on and healing and rectifying. In order for humanity to step forward. And eventually divinely claim our healed sovereignty. It could be vital for this unhealed hidden aspect within women to be exposed, to be seen. It could be a huge piece to humanities complex psychological puzzle.

I’ve always been aware that as a Man I very much have a heavy leaning towards feminine energy, I’m passive in many areas. This is also reflected in some of the romantic partners I’ve been involved with. Masculinised women or feminised men are the intergenerational result of trauma passed on by the mother. It’s an aspect of healing and trauma I hadn’t thought about before reading his material. The unbalancing of the Masculine and feminine within us all.

The same teacher who raised my awareness of Tsarion also made the very prophetic statement one day. What’s is the divine feminine & masculine? Do we actually know? Define it? We hear these cultural collective new age stereotypes of what it is, but in reality what is it really? What is the template that we are searching for…

What I’m writing isn’t to degrade and denigrate how women have been treated through time, or the existence of a dominating patriarchy. Far from it, a recalibration obviously needed to occur. But in these current chaotic times to me I’m starkly aware that both the masculine and feminine are heavily under attack. Culturally it can feel sometimes there has been an over correction with the Masculine hero, ridiculed and bullied into the shadows. And the delicate loving nurturing beauty of the feminine forced into submissive passivity. To even celebrate these core intertwining forces is increasingly becoming a revolutionary act.
