Screen Time
Simultaneously along side this I have been trying to push the Reconsider Simon concept further. Whether its content creation of video, podcasts, writing or overall research. It has tended to centre around a computer screen for long periods of time. Even as the sun sets and the evening draws in I can find myself gravitating towards watching a film or series either on a phone or my canny projector.
These behaviours were ultimately made worse by my health levels over these last few years which has made leaving the house relatively challenging at points, and sometimes my concentration levels would only afford me the ability to actually just stare at a screen and zone out. Reading or anything else was usually strangely challenging.
Screens are like a hypnotic sexy seductress. I mean at any moment my flighty little mind and attention could be sucked into a digital void. An email, a message, a random YouTube video, a Facebook post. My attention span is pretty terrible and it always has been. It feels like a constant battle.
This little flighty floaty attention span the great creator has bestowed upon me is always compounded by the lure of random content. And I mean really, really random.
Question? Have you ever watched a farm vet scrape away an infected cow hoof?
I have… multiple times now. Apparently this is a thing. It was there. I clicked on it. Now my algorithm is suggesting more. 20 years ago could we even imagine the random nature of video content that now entertains and relaxes us in present. Dare I ask where will we be in 10 years time and the types of content that will be considered entertainment.
Move away from the screen Simon
So is there a way I can shift focus making screen time less dominant in my life. Is it possible to design a life, whereby I can earn a living without spending hours and hours in front of moving illuminated pixels.
In moderation I can quite enjoy being productive at a computer, whilst listening to a video or podcast, absorbing wild concepts and theories on this intense reality. But not all day everyday. I need relief from this grind.
The implications of these technologies on our health, spirituality, and energy layers have a myriad of complex interweaving consequences. Wireless technologies, even normal domestic electrical systems and its blanket coverage of magnetic fields and radiation are all problematic. In society there is either a suppression or unwillingness to look and admit that there are negative effects and tradeoffs on our biological and energetic forms whilst interacting with these screen based devices.
This has all led me to consider maybe I can try and create content on the move going forward. Literally stood in a field surrounded by nature. Is there a way I can discuss these same ideas of geomancy, ufo’s, energy, high strangeness, and scared sites, out and about away from the office chair?
Before I get to that thread of the conversation I just wanted to lay out some of my weird and wondrous postulations on some of the negative effects either spiritually or physically when directly interacting with these technologies.
In essence do screens and the matrix like web of interconnecting devices all have a deeper, more unsettling effect on our spiritual lives?
Black mirror – Scrying mirror
Physically the dark blank characteristics of a screen that isn’t turned on, looks like an endless grey dark void with your reflection staring back at you. This as led me to think on and see similarities to Scrying mirrors.
A Scrying mirror is an instrument of divination that has existed and used since ancient times. Those that harness it, claim it acts as a portal to different realms of existence. Bridging a gap between realities enabling the medium to view the past, present or future via quick visual flashes.
Maybe it’s the black colour, but there is something about this form of divination that personally I’m unsure of. I fully admit I could be overly fearful of the unknown. My fears could be wholly unfounded.
But the idea of an open gateway between here and other etheric constructs leaves me slightly uneasy. The question is, is there any form of filtering over what or who comes through this portal? It’s mechanism sounds very similar to how ouija boards operate. Which I would also caution against, for the exact same reason.
Is the user vulnerable to spiritual attacks or attachments through this particular form of divination? Or overall are we now more vulnerable than ever whilst utilising divination devices because the veil is so thin between realities, energies and entities are bleeding through at a rapid rate, now more than ever.
Physically scrying mirrors can be made from polished dark stone like obsidian. Or they can even simply be black painted mirrors. Visually there is a huge correlation between this and smart phone devices that the majority of us carry around.
Even Television sets, computers monitors all have this same black / scrying mirror characteristic when they’re not on. Heck the dystopian television series by British writer Charlie broker is even called ‘Black Mirror’.
Technology itself as I have discovered can be a latent hidden portal to some rather negative energies. I’ve very much experienced this through a horrific attack via an attachment merely through viewing an unsavoury telegram channel.
As many of you know Telegram is deemed as a censorship free messaging platform. It would be best described as similar to a Twitter and What’s App app all combined in one.
Gods honest truth your honour I stumbled upon a Telegram channel that harboured some pretty unsavoury content. At the time I thought ‘only on Telegram’. Alas the effects were a lot longer lasting literally that night I had the most horrifically distorted dreams, with the most gut wrenching hellish visuals that I still carry around in my memories to this day. So thanks for that.
This experience has always stood out to me as a strong example of technology facilitating negative entities or energies to infect our consciousness or our layers of energy bodies.
In my opinion electrical technologies are very much gateways to something. The ghost in the machine as it were.
Narrative machines
These screens whether in our bags, placed on tables, or hung from walls are glowing narrative generating machines, projecting stories out. They decode and try to make sense of the world around us. In fact at this very moment these particles of light generated by my stumpy white fingers as I type are sending words, stories, a narrative deep into your consciousness.
Watching screens lowers our brain waves to Theta levels mirroring deep relaxation and thus making us very suggestible. When we engage with a screen it can render us more susceptible to receiving stories, information and thought forms. Certain global or other worldly powers know this, and can use it to manipulate, control or influence peoples perception away from true realities. Designing a false perception.
In previous decades I’ve pondered a lot on culture how much of maybe art, music, drugs have been manipulated to a certain degree seeding ideas into the collective population, nudging it in certain directions. Previously covert forces had to work really hard to physically and mentally effect the collective consciousness, due to society and technology being a lot less centralised culturally.
Now due to the over arching digital monolithic tools such as Google and a few select media organisations that beam into the majority of countries around the world. It is now relatively easy to steer, amplify or deamplify certain narratives to fit particular agendas.
Screen and namely cloud based technologies have made this manipulation mechanism so much easier. But that is not to say independent voices such as this one have a certain ability to reach out. Although the ongoing effects of shadow banning are very real.
So these have been some of the more esoteric characteristics and symbology of screen based devices, what are the more grounded physical effects to our physical health and wellbeing.
Neurological effects
Neurological effects from long term repeated screen usage from my own experience can definitely be damaging.
There is increasing evidence especially on young developing minds that screens are causing a variety of neurological conditions or at the very least exacerbate existing issues.
Currently we are witnessing an explosion of ADHD, Autism and other brain and cognition related conditions. This subject is a complex landscape that weaves spiritual components, chemical and heavy metal toxicity, pharmaceuticals, diet, gut health, EMF radiation are all contributing factors.
I would argue screen time on top of all these factors probably isn’t helping. Even with my own personal health journey I have found there is a very strong negative interaction between heavy metal / chemical toxicity in our bodies and electromagnetic fields. The two combined, really can powerfully negatively effect our health and wellbeing.
Even the type of content we are consuming plays an important role. Todays trend towards short form content at the moment is continuing to dominate. The effect is narrowing peoples attention span, including myself. Making it harder to concentrate on longer form engagement.
Blue light issue
Tablets, mobile phones, smart tv’s and computer monitors are all emitting blue light. Blue light is part of the visible light spectrum. This type of light embodies the shortest wave length combined with the highest energy which helps makes it very visible to the human eye.
But alas after prolonged exposure the blue light can actually damage the retinal cells, causing vision distortion, and contributing towards the future likelihood of cataracts and eye cancers.
Blue light in a way artificially mirrors natural light, thereby tricking the body into creating melatonin at incorrect times of the day. Resultantly this deeply interrupts our circadian system increasing the possibilities of cardiovascular disease, sleep disorders, and other cognitive dysfunction.
Conclusions
Computers and smart phones technologically have been such a revolution. I concede honestly it is enabling me to write these crazy ideas and musings to you all now. Undoubtedly it has contributed to a real cultural shift and consciousness change, maybe more than covert controlling forces would like and had planned for.
I acknowledge that ever since I was a child I have been fascinated with digital technologies, and creativity especially. In fact over the last two decades I’ve managed to create a living out of it.
But I feel we are collectively at time where we really need to stop and reassess our relationship with technology. To see what it is, and what is isn’t.
Overall electrical gadgetry needs to made safer especially after prolonged periods of use. It’s obviously causing a wide array of health and mental concerns.
I have further worries concerning younger generations. I personally had a childhood that had limited screen use. I am aware that screens now for some dominate the lives of really young children. What the long terms effects will be, is still yet to be known. But anecdotally metal health problems, loneliness, disconnection from each other all seem to maybe be connected
The more esoteric effects are harder to analyse. But technologies acting as gateway for undesirable energies, entities and beings can occur.
How this mechanic truly works is hard to understand, but real care needs to be taken. I think especially as more of these worlds are exposed, a light shone on these dark corners of reality I feel we may need to spiritually and energetically protect ourselves more and more as the layers of illusion are gradually pealed away from this reality.
So the future for me, maybe a little less screen time. More time looking at physical outside world, claiming my connection with nature, the land. Let’s hope I can transition to creating content out and about, this will make time spent at a computer screen feel less oppressive.
